These cemented polarizers have the widest field angle of any design. The standard form of this polarizer with 2·5:1 length to aperture (L/A) ratio has a full acceptance cone angle of more than 15° @ 589nm, symmetric about the input axis, whilst the long form with 3:1 ratio has a field angle of greater than 26°.

Both forms of polarizer produce an extinction ratio of at least 10-5, and the n-butyl methacrylate index matching cement results in a transmission from 350nm to beyond 2·5μm. The polarizers are optically worked to exacting standards and are precision assembled for less than three minutes of arc deviation straight through. The unpolished side faces are covered with a black absorbing paint which limits the cw power to 1W/cm2.

Mounts
These polarizers are supplied unmounted as free components unless mounting is specified at the time of ordering. The mount design for these polarizers is in the form of a simple tube with silicone rubber, giving access to the input and output beams. To specify mounted polarizers, simply add suffix:
M2 for Type 2 mount (shown)
RM5 for Type 5 rotation mount
