The Company

Halbo Optics was founded by Harry Koetser, Alan Hawkins and Bob Taylor in 1978. The early years saw a steady expansion in product range and customer base, primarily in the UK. In 1985 the company moved to purpose-built premises in South Woodham Ferrers, 50m east of London. This was expanded in 1990 to accommodate dedicated grinding, polishing and assembly facilities.

Following the retirement of Alan and Bob, the business was reorganized as a limited liability company, with new directors, continuing to supply industry and universities with high quality components.

Halbo Optics produces every component listed in this internet guide, starting from raw materials, many of them naturally occurring, and finishing up with high specification passive optical devices. Our products are used by research workers and OEM industrial companies throughout Europe, U.S. and the far east.
